Location: Aldingham, Morecambe Bay SAR Units: Walney CRTJob: 81 OOL - Ordnance on Land - Liverpool MRCC received a phone call from a member of the public that he had
found what he thought was an explosive device on the beach in the Aldingham

turned out to be a live but wet pyrotechnic.
The object was retrieved and disposed of in the
correct manner
07 December 13:00 to 18:00 UTC Location: Fell Foot, Windermere SAR Units: Walney CRT, Cumbria police, DFMRT, Kendal MRT, Langdale & Ambleside MRT, Lake WardensJob: 80 PMIS - Person Missing - Walney CRT were tasked to aid S. Lakes team to help search the shoreline of Lake Windermere from Fell Foot to Newby Bridge and Lake Side to Newby Bridge. A Yachtsmen was believed to have fallen from his vessel whilst boarding it earlier that day or possibly the previous day. CG teams searched their tasked areas whilst a Walney Coxswain was placed on a Lake Warden Craft to complete a methodical search from the known datum (the yacht.) Due to failing light CG's proceeded with their search before Mountain Rescue Teams arrived from Duddon, Ambleside and Kendal. The Coastguard shoreline search was completed as darkness fell and CRT's regrouped at Fell Foot. Police were advised that Coastguard personnel were standing down and that their advice would be that MRT should do similar. Shortly after the teams stood down a body was recovered by a police dive team, under the water at the stern of the vessel. |
