Welcome to the web site of South Cumbria CoastguardThis site is run and maintained by the two southern most stations within Cumbria Sector. The views and content within this site are our own, therefore they should not be taken as official MCA Policies.
Within this site you will find information about The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), what we do , and also meet the Walney, Millom and Bootle Coastguard Rescue Teams, the equipment we use and details of the calls (shouts) to which we respond. You can even see a map of the area with the location of our shouts. You can also see which other SAR Units we work with, and the location of those teams. The Coastguard News section is filled with live press releases and for the more modern of our readers, Podcasts, for you to download and put on your i pod.
